INDUSTRY APPLICATION

Powered Access for Industrial Maintenance

Industrial sites often combine congested structures, plant interfaces, restricted zones and planned shutdown windows. Accurate geometry and site restrictions are especially important.

PROJECT CONTEXT

WHAT TO CONSIDER

Describe the obstructions

Pipework, conveyors, structure and process equipment can make outreach geometry more important than headline height.

Plan around permits and zones

Tell suppliers about relevant site restrictions, access windows and environmental constraints.

Coordinate with the shutdown plan

Delivery, charging/fuelling and machine movement should fit the maintenance sequence.

Shutdown timing should be part of the machine enquiry

Where maintenance is tied to a shutdown or production window, include the permitted delivery time, work sequence and any restrictions on movement once the shutdown begins. Lost time caused by a machine that cannot reach the task or pass through the plant can be disproportionately disruptive in a tightly controlled maintenance programme.

Congested plant makes geometry especially important

Pipework, vessels, conveyors, cable routes and structural steel can block a direct approach to the work point. Provide photographs or drawings where possible and identify where the machine can stand. This helps suppliers assess whether vertical access, articulated outreach or a compact tracked solution is the more realistic starting point. Include any known one-way routes, controlled zones or temporary obstructions created by the maintenance programme.

EQUIPMENT CATEGORIES

OPTIONS OFTEN CONSIDERED

These categories are examples rather than a specification. The final equipment selection should be confirmed for the project, work method and site conditions.
