Commercial basics
Provide site postcode, start date or urgency, expected hire period, machine quantity and a reliable contact method.
Machine requirement
If you know the category, include it. If not, describe the task and select the need-advice option rather than guessing.
Height and reach
Include the work height and any horizontal outreach or obstacles between the machine and the work point.
Site constraints
Describe ground/floor, width restrictions, indoor/outdoor environment, gradients, loading restrictions and delivery limitations.
Supporting information
Photographs or drawings can help where the access route or work geometry is difficult to explain in text.
Explain the work method in plain language
A short description such as “replace lighting above live racking” or “reach cladding fixings beyond a canopy” can reveal constraints that a machine category alone does not. Mention whether the work is repetitive, whether the platform must move frequently, and whether tools or materials need to travel with the operative.
Identify information that still needs confirming
It is better to mark an item as unknown than to guess. If outreach, floor loading, access width or ground condition is uncertain, state that clearly and provide photographs or drawings where available. A supplier can then ask targeted questions before confirming a machine rather than basing a quotation on an inaccurate assumption.
