Occupied environments
Consider pedestrians, tenants, customers and operational restrictions around the work zone.
Building access
Doors, loading areas, service corridors and finished floors can determine what equipment can reach the task.
Internal vs external work
Different areas of the same property may require different machine categories because ground, emissions and reach requirements change.
Plan the delivery route
Delivery timing, unloading position and travel from the vehicle to the work area should be described before hire.
Plan around occupants and building operations
Office, retail and managed-estate work may need to happen around tenants, customers, security controls and limited service access. State whether the area will be occupied, the permitted work window and any restrictions on noise, emissions or public access. These details can influence both the machine category and the delivery plan.
Treat finished surfaces as part of the access requirement
Stone, tile, raised floors, landscaping and completed external works may need protection or impose loading constraints. Describe the full route from unloading point to the task and flag any sensitive areas. The supplier can then consider machine configuration, tyres or tracks, and any project-specific protection measures alongside the required height and outreach. If goods lifts or service corridors form part of the route, include their known dimensional or loading restrictions too.
